Checkout terms and privacy

Open Home Starter is a one-time $149 guided product. Hardware and optional third-party services are purchased separately. Stripe processes payment, and the order is complete only after Open Home Kits verifies the signed payment confirmation.

Purchase and delivery

Stripe charges the one-time Open Home Kits price shown for Open Home Starter plus applicable tax. Hardware, shipping, Home Assistant Cloud, and other third-party costs are separate. After the signed payment event is recorded, the return page confirms the matching release and opens the polished Starter guide in that browser. The complete guide and printable companions require a current paid, non-refunded, non-disputed order on every request; forwarding the guide URL alone does not grant access. A curated preview and Home Assistant-importable files remain public where the software requires them. A PDF saved by the customer is an offline copy and cannot be remotely revoked.

Support and refund

The purchase includes three optional notification-only templates and up to three setup-specific replies for the Starter setup as a whole, including help creating or testing up to three simple Starter notification automations. The same three-reply pool covers foundation, sensors, and automations; it is not three per sensor or automation, requested by email within 14 calendar days after successful paid order confirmation; we aim to answer each within two business days. It does not include calls, chat, screen sharing, remote access, physical installation, equipment-control automations, open-ended automation design, or ongoing maintenance. On request within that same 14-day window after paid order confirmation, Open Home Kits manually refunds the full amount paid to Open Home Kits, including any tax collected by Open Home Kits. Hardware, seller shipping, seller-collected tax, Home Assistant Cloud, and other third-party costs are excluded. The Starter guide explains its required-hardware delay reset. Administrative help restoring guide access after receipt verification does not consume one of the three troubleshooting replies. Open Home Kits does not use a permanent emailed guide link as proof of purchase.

Product boundary

Open Home Kits provides guided Home Assistant setup, testing, and undo steps for one supported Zigbee or Z-Wave Starter sensor mix and up to three bounded notification-only automations. Sensor state and optional notifications are not monitoring, emergency response, a security system, medical or safety advice, or a guarantee that a device, network, phone notification, or third-party service will always work.

Open Home Custom

A Custom inquiry is an email request, not an order. Open Home Kits confirms exact scope, compatibility, privacy and safety boundaries, support, timing, price, and refund terms in writing before accepting work or taking payment. Do not email credentials, access links, addresses, camera images or audio, or household schedules.

Payment and site data

Stripe handles payment details under its own terms. Open Home Kits stores opaque order, checkout-session, offer, payment-state, refund, dispute, and webhook identifiers needed to fulfill and reconcile the order and maintain revocable browser access to the paid guide. Cloudflare Workers records normal hosting and security logs under its service terms. Do not send passwords, access tokens, remote-access credentials, household routines, or sensitive device details in checkout or support email.
